This painting was inspired by a photograph taken at Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada. I was walking along the sandy desert floor of Mouse’s Tank Trail and I saw an image of a bird in the sandstone. When I was little, my mother and I would always look out the window and watch the birds. Instantly, her love of robins came into my memory. The painting was created from these experiences.
