Rooster in the Wood was painted from a photograph taken on the North Loop Trail hike, on Mount Charleston, in Nevada. I saw a beautiful head of a rooster, beak, and eye. I emphasized the nostril and eye to give this piece a soulful appearance. This tree has recently been cut and the beak no longer exists. I am grateful to have captured a picture of this tree in its glory.
