“Moon Wizard” was painted from a fallen tree in Red Rock Canyon, Nevada. There are many wonders in the desert. Trees are molded by gusts of wind and sand blowing around them. This tree has a sandstone rock wedged inside it. As I looked closer, I saw it was in the shape of a crescent moon and had a beard like a wizard. The background was inspired by this image and the painting was set in the night sky. I saw a wizard in the moon. What do you see in the wood?
