Front and Center – Original

This was painted from a reference photograph taken at Red Rock Canyon. The focus is the inside of a Joshua Tree. Burros eat the pods before they bloom into beautiful white flowers during Spring. Pods that are left uneaten end up turning into wood structures during the Fall. This Series of Joshua Tree Pods shows the movement and flow I see in the desert, intertwining rough and soft textures.

“Front and center” reminds me of a goldfish swimming at the glass to say hello. This painting also reminds me of playing sports growing up. What do you see?
